Shota is a witch woman who rules a small territory of the Midlands. She is very powerful and many people fear her.
Alternate Future[]
A group of Mord-Sith come to Agaden Reach and capture her. She is then locked away in Rahl's dungeon along with Kahlan. Before getting captured, Shota saw The Seeker 58 years into the future due to her power to see through time. She tells of Richard's whereabouts to a wheeping Kahlan, along with the fact that she is the last remaining Confessor. After 58 years have passed, Shota remains at the abandoned castle, looking for the key to her power-supressing necklace. She has by then grown to look old and pale. She soon meets Richard and the Mord-Sith Cara, and tells them of Kahlan's reason for bearing Rahl a male Confessor. Shota later willingly gets confessed by Nicolas Rahl in order for Richard's plan to return back to the right time to work. Due to its success, Shota's fate is reverted.
Tear In the Veil[]
Shota appears to Zedd and gives him three riddles that are warnings of what will come to pass as proof that Richard Rahl will fail in his quest to defeat the Keeper.
1. Richard will embrace the one in red (Cara).
2. Richard will deny that which will give him power (the throne of D'Hara).
3. Richard shall bear the mark of the one that would destroy all life (Darken Rahl's handprint scarred into his chest).
The Young First Wizard[]
Shota casts a spell of Forgetfulness on Zedd. She then convinces the confused Zedd to get the Sword of Truth from Richard, and she later generates him back to his youth. Later, Zedd escapes from Shota and does a lot of things due to his arrogances and powers. In the end, Shota lifts the spell of Forgetfulness.
Magical Abilities[]
As a Witch woman, Shota had the natural ability to see the flow and ebb of time. Many fear her as she is very powerful. She is able to cast curses on an object or a person as shown when she placed a curse on a scepter allowing the owner to turn into a Caltrop. When Shota and the first wizard Zedd combined their magic they were able to move the moon in front of the sun to cause a Solar Eclipse from occuring also Shota said that with their magic they could move mountains.
