Darken Rahl and his Mord'Sith interrupt Richard and Kahlan as they prepare to unleash the power of Orden, which would destroy the tyrant once and for all. Zedd tries to use his magic against a mord-sith and dies. Putting the powers of confession, agiel and Orden together causes unforseen magical repercussions for everyone, which sends Richard into the future with the mord-sith that touched him with her agiel Cara. Once realizing they are in the future they join forces to go back. Kahlan decided to have a child with Darken Rahl so that a confessor could be alive to be able to send Richard back to the past. The child becomes a boy confessor kills Kahlan and Darken Rahl. He confesses everyone in the world. But eventually helps Richard without wanting to because he was really trying to confess Richard. Richard and Cara get transpoted back to the past. Darken Rahl dies. Zedd is alive once more. Then Richard, Kahlan and Zedd have a warm felt moment at the beach.
