Rachel was the girl whose family was killed although she was spared, because the queen thought her a good playmate for princess Violet. Rachel was very brave, as she helped Zedd steal the key to the treasure room at Tamarang and delivered the box to Richard and Kahlan. She was taken in by the cook Martha.
