Caracticcus Zorander was a wizard and the father of Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander and Thaddiccus Zorander. Through Zed, he was the grand father of Taralyn Zorander, and through her the great-grandfather of Richard Rahl.
Death[]
Caracticcus was killed by Panis Rahl after Caracticcus had tried to killed Panis' infant son Darken Rahl.
Panis used his Rahl magic to disquise himself as Zed, and confronted Caracticcus about his attempt on the babies life. After Caracticcus said he did it, Panis stabbed him in the gut, making Caractiuccus believe that he was murdered by his own son.
Legacy[]
Unbeknownst to both Caracticcus and Panis, the entire exchange was witnissed through a window by his other son, Thaddicus Zorander.
When Zed returned sometime afterwards, Thaddicus made him swear that they would avenge their father and drive Caracticcus' dagger through Panis Rahl's heart.
